What kind and how many watts is the amp? My system cost me about $250. I got 2 infinity reference 12" subs, 1230 watt max, and a pioneer 780 watt amp. The subs were buy 1 get one for $.01, and the amp was a display model I got at like 40% off since there was no box. I made a custom box, and have had the same system for 3 years now, and it hits hard enough to give me a headache. You are likely going to end up buying an amp that makes way too much power for the freebie subs, and having to come back to buy new subs. Make sure the subs you plan on getting can handle at least 10% more RMS watts than the amp's RMS watt rating. That will make your system last without you having to worry about blowing the subs.

For $300 you're not buying much, most likly bottom of the line, that they're trying to get rid of for new stock. But like what was said, have a listen, if you like them, buy them. And if they are a no name brand, don't be overly suprised if in a few months time they die out on you.

depends on the brand

a friend of mine got a cheap Rockford set up with 2 10" p1's and an amp to match.. its not much but he likes rock and he has a small cab pickup, in which case he got a good deal.

Check the brand. Make some research about the quality. Most of items with freebies are outmoded. They just sell it for a lower price just to get rid of the stocks that will just eating up their storage space.
