it hurts ot breath, sleep and walk most of the time and is consistant. The reason i have not gone ot the hospital or doctor is the closest one is almost 45 minutes away and the clinic here is only open 2 days a week. I do not htink it is life threatening but i was wondering if anyone else has had this and could provide me with something i can do. I am not on any medication and everything else seems normal.

It could be gallstones?? I'm having my gallbladder removed on Thurs, and prior to having a very painful attack last month I was having pain in my chest and felt bloated and uncomfortable. It becomes worse if you eat fatty foods.
I would get it checked out ASAP, I had to have morphine when I had my "attack" and have panadine forte for any pain until the op. Thankfully I have been reasonably fine since the 'attack' as I have stayed away from fatty foods, and I have also lost 4kgs.

If your pain has gone on this long, it's time (or past time) to go to the doctor. Pain is your body's hint that there is something wrong. If I were you, I would take someone else along with me rather than drive for 45 minutes while experiencing stabbing pain.

Get to the hospital. Now! Just remember this ABC
A- Airway
B-Breathing
C-Circulation
Anything that interferes with any of the above is an emergency.

Ring the hospital and tell them your symptoms and ask them should you come into the hospital. If they say yes, tell them you have no means of transport and is it possible for an ambulance to pick you up. If they cant send you an ambulance find someone in your family, amongst your friends, or amongst your neighbors and tell them what is wrong and ask them could they please give you a ride to the hospital.
