Back...you have a lot of room there to tatoo. If you're fit, consider something on the side of the body, too....IMHO, that's the hot spot for guys(it's the equivalent of lower back for girls!)

On the back, for 2 reasons
1) large tattoos generally don't look that great on chests IMO
2) the back changes shape less with weight changes. Just think how silly a tat on your chest would look if you were to ever gain enough weight to develope "man boobs"!

Across Your upper back. A tattoo on the chest means that the needle has to run over the sternum, and that really hurts.

Get it on your upper back, it wouldn't stretch out as time goes on. I think it would look better there instead of on the chest especially if it’s a larger tattoo.

I believe that particularly large tattoos are best left to the upper back, because there is a big enough space for nearly any design and because there is less chance of stretching/disfigurement.

I would get it on your back between your shoulders. I just think it would look better there than on your chest. Good Luck w/ the tat!
