Satan had nothing to get to Adam with...except Eve. He knew that Adam loved the hottest woman on Earth...she had incredible sex appeal...he knew that Adam would not want to lose Eve. Eve was attracted to the beauty of the snake, the intelligence...the possibility of becoming more. If Satan wasn't lying, then Eve would be obtaining something good for the family. Satan knew how to appeal to her emotions.

The forbidden "apple" or whatever would never have tempted Adam but satan knew that Eve certainly would. Adam took of the fruit because He desired Eve more than He desired God. Not much has changed has it! It wasn't through Eve that all of mankind fell prey to the nature of sin - it was through Adam (for sperm [life] is carried by the man not the woman). It is possible (purely conjecture) that if Adam had stayed faithful to God mankind would have a different outcome. Whatever would have been - that is not what was! The New Testament says that Eve "was in the transgression" or was part of the temptation that caused Adam to transgress. satan wanted to destroy God's creation, mankind, and the best way to accomplish that was through the unity of mankind - thus he caused a split between man and woman (husband and wife) through sin. Adam's choice was clear...sin and be one with Eve...or stay holy and be one with God...Choices haven't changed much over the years have they!

I think he realised that she had the stronger, more independent mind and personality, and realised that in order to 'tempt' her, he would have to bring to bear his considerable powers of argumentation, which he did. I think he also saw that Adam was the distinctly weaker of the pair - so for Eve, Satan's super-human persuasive powers were needed, for Adam, Eve's just-human efforts would be enough.

And *then* he turned the tables so all the blame would fall on her, making sure that the stronger side of creation would be reviled for becoming victim to a much stronger persuader for thousands of years.

Well, at least that's how I always read that part of the mythology.

He saw she had a weaker mind.
I'm sorry I had to say it. I know that wasn't it. I just wanted to piss off some girls. Seriously though, a few reasons probably. Divide and conquer. One person can fall easier than two. Also Satan knew if he could make Eve fall, Adam would fall too simply because he did not want to lose Eve. Adam knew that what Eve had done was wrong but went along with it and shared in the consequences.

The women is sensual, she is very sexual and to men she is attracted. I am almost certain that Satan spoke with such smoothness, like dripping honey, that she was seduced by his voice alone. The manliness, Maybe even being that man is head over woman, she was deceived to think that this was someone who was in authority over her. The logical premise given, caused all of mankind to fall into sin. Satan just threw his "game" and she fell for it.

If you actually look at that story there is no way Adam or Eve could've understood that what they were doing was wrong since they didn't possess the knowledge of good and evil!

Additionally everything Satan said was proven to be the truth!
He said God knows in the day you eat there of then your eyes shall be opened and you shall be as gods knowing good and evil. GOD ADMITTED THIS VERY THING IN GENESIS 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
This verse also PROVES Adam and Eve had NOT been immortal! After all if they had been there would've been no need to eat of the tree of life to be immortal!
Satans statement about their eyes being opened was also proven true in GENESIS 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened
EVERY WORD SATAN SAID WAS TRUE!!

GOD WAS THE LIAR!!

Also God knew this would happen and that every evil thing that did happen would happen! IT WAS ALL PART OF HIS SICK PLAN!! YOU NEED PROOF FINE TRY THIS ONE! REVELATION 17:8 the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world!

FACE REALITY THIS GOD IS EVIL!!!

Because Adam was older and wiser and had first hand knowledge of God and his ways. Eve was more vulnerable and easier to deceive.

Eve was a good looking chick. Satan is a guy. Any guy would've done the same thing.

Apparantly, he could see how much Adam loved Eve, and figured he could kill them both by killing her.

He seems to have been correct.
