it's not like I even work hard before it goes all red, can I do anything to fix it? I've actually begun to avoid the gym because it's so embarrassing...

I have a tendency to get very red also, so i can sympathize. You might check with your doctor to make sure you don't have a medical problem that might result in facial flushing. After that, the only thing you really can do is ignore it, annoying as it is. I've managed to come to a point where I really don't care what I look like at the gym - it's more important to get fit.

It just ha[ppens to some people. It shows your heart is doing it's job distributing your blood/oxygen to the right parts of your body. If this did not happen you would surely pass out as your head needs most of the oxygen before your muscles that are being worked out do.
Perhaps try to do lower cardio workout, and keep a wet flannel nearby to wipe your face down :)

If you have this problem, please consult your doctor to make sure you have no heart problems.

As long as the doctor checks out, i'd say excercise less hard than you do now, even though you don't think its much. Everybody has a different pace. You have to work with whats best for you right now, rather than what you feel you "SHOULD" be able to do.

Don't be embarassed.

I think you're being a little paranoid. The body becomes naturally flushed the faster your heart rate becomes. No way to fix it, but nobody at the gym is going to care b/c theirs does the same thing.
