I dislike talking, how can I meet new people?

I dislike initiating a conversation, and when people ask me questions, people tell me my answers are curt.

I used to be amazingly shy and not be able to open a converation as well. I found out it was because I was afraid of what would come out of my mouth. But once I developed confidence in myself I found out that there was no reason for me to shy. Yes you can go to these online sites but you'll eventually have to communicate with people. Try and answer someone's question the way you would want if ou were asking the question. And follow up with a question of your own about that person. That will show you're interested in that person as well. Develop your confidence by getting comfortable with yourself. People won't find you intriguing and interesting unless you believe it in yourself. Once you do that you'll have more friends than you'll know what to do with.

You'll have to try to lighten up a little dear. Nobody likes a person who appears to be a snob. And even though you probably are a very nice person & just a little shy about talking to people you don't know, being curt all the time makes people think you don't want to be bothered.And that's no way to make new friends. Try role playing with a trusted friend & then when you go out in public really give it your all to connect with someone. Good luck.

No, rofl. Really, you should either A, get used to talking. If you can't talk to people, you really aren't going to be able to communicate well. Just talk often, and relax, enjoy your conversations. Or if you really hate talking, email, or online chatrooms.

find other people that don't like talking as well. though i have no room to talk cause i have no social skills or friends myself, so i know its easier said then done.

it's okay, we were not born communicators, some people are communicators, however I suggest that you compromise, you know just give a little bit more chance to yourself to talk and express your opinions, they are important to communicate.
