I keep seeing all these articles and news clips of this "self-taught prodigy" named Akiane. She's been on Oprah and I believe Maury as well, and her art sells for thousands. Many of the subjects she supposedly paints are religious or symbolic of spiritualism in some way, and she claims to communicate with God.
There is little debate about it that I can readily find at the moment, most sites and articles praising her amazing talent. I've been thinking of emailing Snopes.com about it to see what they can find, and maybe put some people in their rightful places.
Another thing I find odd about this Akiane person is that her entire family was supposedly Atheist, home-schooled her all her life, and from what I can gather apparently kept her inside a plastic religion-free BUBBLE her whole life, never to venture to the outside world, let alone hear of this mysterious "God"-creature from anyone, oh no sir. (Yeah right.)
So any opinions or better yet valid debates on this?

No, I don't think she's a fraud at all. I think she's extremely talented and she just gets better with age (all of 12 now! hehe). From the articles I've read about her, she hasn't always been home schooled as this has just been something they've done in the past couple of years to allow her more time to paint, travel and pursue other interests (poetry and piano).

It is possible that her family has capitalized on her talent by gearing it to religious works, but she does paint many other subjects. Many of these paintings are shown on her website as well as a brief history of her family life. Some of the answers she gives do sound a little "religiously corny" but who knows?

Whatever it is that is driving her, there is no question that is in an incredibly talented artist!

If she is a fraud then please explain the Kevin Burpo reaction, from the "Heaven Is For Real" book, to seeing Akianes painting of Jesus Christ. After seeing many perception paintings of Christ he said not a one of them was the one he met in heaven. That is not until he saw Akianes version. Non believers will put this off as fraud because they are blinded to the Truth...But there is still time people to find the Truth and it shall set you free.

I can see that Akiane does believe in God, and if you don't, then you must be blind, and I do know for a fact that God loves her. As far as who paints those paintings, I don't think that really matters when you look at bigger picture of what is going on down here. As for the skeptics who try to tear her down, out of jealousy, or out of their own unresolved hate, [ which they carry around with them every day just looking for a helpless looking person like Akiane to pounce on ] - ( well, I know you ) - I see lost and angry people like you every day of my life. All I can say to you is - leave her and all good people alone, and for God's sake - ( no not for God's sake, but for your sake ) - get some help, so that you too can at least be happy for the rest of your life - you deserve to be happy too. :) God loves you too :)

For the believer Akiane is God's way of communicating with mankind. For the non believer all I can say is you seen the truth but your eyes is controlled by your closed mind. I am so sorry for you....

It seems to me that the person(s) who have elected to claim Ms. Kramarik as a fraud have one thing in common: money. They do not care about her talent nor her claim that God has granted her to see beyond this world. They only concern themselves with the money. That's understandable because those who love money cannot love God. Not possible. So, if Ms. Kramarik is a fraud because she makes money for being an artist who paints what she sees within her own "imagination" how much less is she doing than the artists who are declaring that she is a fraud? If one's life is about monetary possession or the possessions which money can buy, then that person's life is only valued based upon the amount of money they possess. How much are you worth when your're dead? Life is so much more than possessions .... or even talents ... its about caring. So, ask yourself, what do you CARE about? If you don't care about people then you have nothing in common with God. And if you don't believe in God why should anyone believe that you care about anyone else?

Joe Torre is the one who left the Yankees because we wouldn't give him enough money. Yes, I still think he did a great job as our manager for 12 years - he got us a ton of Championships and I appreciate that. But if he's going to leave the Yankees behind and start over with a new team, why is he trash-talking about them and their players? Girardi's in charge now, not Torre, and he isn't having a problem with A-rod. Neither, from what I can tell, are his teammates, so I think Torre can just keep his insults to himself. Besides what he said about A-rod, he also claimed that GM Brian Cashman "betrayed him." However, before Torre and the Yankees parted way, Cashman publically announced that he hoped Torre would remain manager for at least another year. It was Cashman who procured the offer to Torre for another year long contract. Torre was the one who wouldn't accept the contract and now he repays Cashman for his pains by trash-talking about him in this enthralling new book. Regardless of whether or not Torre's derogatory comments were true it is still completely unnecessary to write about the past in a book; what he did was extremely unprofessional and just serves to show that he is still bitter about leaving. I used to have respect for Torre even though he left - I understood that he just needed a new start. But after this totally uncalled for episode, my opinion of him has gone way, way down...

What is wrong in this world. Has it become so jaded that people can not believe that God can cause Miracle to happen in our modern day world. Couldn't this little girl have had God touch her heart and soul or have had her seen behind our earthly veil into the heavenly and see or visualize Heaven and Jesus. Is it beyond God's power? I think not. Nothing is beyond his power. It is for the Lord to decide whom to touch with his miracle. We may not ever know why but that is also his decision, that is to let is know why. Then again isn't believing in God and Jesus Christ based on one simple or for some complex concept...... Faith. For one I have Faith, I believe in Alkiene and in Heaven is For Real. For Heaven is For Real. HMH3

Well as a Yankee Fan honestly i hate hearing stuff like this . As a fan is not something you like to hear and hope it can change. Since Joe Torre left, Girardi with all due respect cant handle the Yankees Job and sadly wont be able to do it. Arod [a deep breath of disspointment] just gets me disappointed because his ability to play baseball is amazing, but himself as a person need's to change. Not only for him but the Yankee Team, who needs it and the Fans who want it. As a Fan i feel again sad to hear it and in a sense it like we are supporting what he is doing because he is on the team, but i dont. Wow i wake to hear this crap, not a good day to Start a sunday:[ edit- This Season is going to be exciting, and to all truth we as fans will never know all the whole story to it. So the Yankees need to start of good or its going to be a long season.
