Well, the previous statement, "sony likes to do a like "false advertising" in a way, blah blah blah."

is actually false. Since Sony voluntarily has their amps tested by the Consumer Electronics Association and given the CEA-2006 compliance label, the watts RMS stated on the box is accurate (and it is on the box of all Sony amplifiers).

Check the specs of any amp, if it states it's CEA-2006 compliant, you can be assured the power listing is true.

Since the subs can handle more power than what the amp pushes, don't try to push the amps limits with the gain control cranked, this will destroy the subs. The gain should match the signals RMS Volts coming from the head unit.

Here are the specs of your amp

1200W max power
200W x 2 RMS into 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz @ 0.1% THD
250W x 2 RMS into 2 ohms, 20Hz - 20kHz @ 0.15% THD
500W x 1 RMS into 4 ohms, 20Hz - 20kHz @ 0.15% THD

By guesing the pioneers subs would be around the 200wrms so I would run them in 2 ohms to get the 250rms, and you should'nt have too much of and issue.

Remember to run thick cable from your battery to the amp, or it will be pointless and you will loose alot of power, so to to your sub etc

it depends on the RMS output of the amp and the subs...the 2 subs RMS outputs put together should not exceed the RMS input that the amp can handle

ex. amp= 750 RMS
2 subs = 700 RMS

this would be ok

sony likes to do a like "false advertising" in a way, i don't think they even post RMS numbers on their boxes, but they post Peak numbers in large print, fooling newcomers to car audio.

these guys are right, RMS is your concern here.
