Go ahead and ask her. Dinner and a movie. You dont have to be her closest friend. I had the same exact scenario as you with my g.f now. I wasnt the closest friend with my g.f b4 we started dating. Like you can make this girl smile, I just could make my g.f smile. So I asked her to a movie and things just progressed from there. Dont be nervous to ask her. Just go ahead and ask her out. Baby steps. It really sounds like she likes you too so you have nothing to fear. Just go for it and see what happens.. Best of luck to you man. I hope she says yes!

Go out to eat, forget the movie. I never understood why that is the text book first date. Little hard to get to know her when everyone is shooshing you at the theater. I'd say dinner and some sort of fun activity.

A girl really likes a guy who can make her laugh so if you feel for her ask her or you will spend the rest of your life wandering what could have been better to try and fail than not to try and wander

Jump on it cowboy, I think she likes you. You will miss your chance. Ask her to do something fun its good to eat but a movie is over rated.
