Plus, are there any other consequences not getting enough sleep? And when do effects start showing? Because I sleep very little because I am always studying and procrastinating?

i have this problem too, only i physicaly cant sleep. insomnia-dsps. its like constantly having jet lag. its really frustrating. I dont think you actually faint, more like...you fall asleep. you should go to bed and sleep in tomorrow if ur in high school. tell ur parents its important for your health. because it is. just sleep in tomorrow. then you will be able to study and remember things better if you are well rested.

Yes, you can. I've gone for over 48 hours without sleep and I would at that point hallucinate or slowly faint. It's by no means impossible. However if it happened during the course of a relatively normal day (say, you slept 4 or 5 hours), it might be a seizure. It's too much of a guessing game to determine the true cause from just your text, only a doctor could fully know the actual reason by talking with you.

Your body and mind is like a machine and a computer. If you let it run without much rest, the machine & computer will breakdown. It is the same for our body and mind.

Sleep is a way to rest ourself from working all day. We work for more than 12 hours, and it's only fair that our body & mind should be at rest for a couple of hours. Doctors recommended at most 8 hours of sleep (with a glass of milk, of course.).

Without sleep, the productivity to do work will be extremely low -- you can't think or do properly (because you're body didn't get enough rest). You'll be out of focus, and your face will not be cheery and glowing; more like panda bear (because of the dark rings around your eyes.). In addition, you find yourself being grumpy and angry most of the time (because you're too tired, and you have no mood to be happy). If you take a look at the buzz in France, the Health Ministry is proposing that the French should be allowed to take "power naps" with aim to increase work performances. (That's so cool, I know.).

Normally, you'll find that these effects will manifest after a couple of days without good sleep. And it will seriously affect your health will this continues.

Yes you can faint. It also affects your thought processes so you don't make good decisions. It's not a good habit as it also will affect your immune system so get some sleep already! You won't retain things you study when you're overtired so you'd be wasting time, Go to BED!

Yes, it is true I know someone a friend of mine actually fainte d two days ago from not getting any sleep in 49 hours and from that she suffered memory loss. Conquences can vary depending on persons health and it can affect anywhere from your brain to your muscles including your heart. The effects can start from a day or two. My suggestion is go see your doctor t osee if he/she can prescribed some sleep aids or sleep therapy.

Yes you can Faint
I saw it happen to a shipmate of mine when I was in Boot camp.
He fell right on me.
The first thing we had to do was stay awake for 3 days straight.

yes I think that you can, because when you sleep this is giving your body time to recharge. You usually can tell the effects of not sleeping enough in about a day or two or I can.
