Each therpist is different and many have different points of view about how to counsel. Many are trained to help you identify the types of problems you are having and they often direct you in self-discovery, so you can learn more about yourself. As a therapist, I do not directly tell someone "this is what's wrong with you," but I will ask about whether or not there is a possibility that "this or that" is going on. Now, if someone is really hurting and suffering from severe emotional distress, then I will share my belief about what I think is going on with them in terms of providing a diagnosis. I believe in educating a client about their disorder, and many other counselors operate like this, as well. But, they are all different in their style of delivery. Good luck to you.

No not normally unless you ask directly sometimes even then you can leave still not knowing as for whats going on in your mind.. Yes this appears to be a lot easier for them, think reason being they try all the internal and external factors which may be causing your probs before they can diagnose in case they misdiagnose which can at times be destroying to a person hence contributing to their already their probs, hope this helps

Well yes, so will just tell you, others you may have to ask, but yes they will, but they may also need more then on session with you, and you are going to have to help, and talk about the things that are bothering you , cause they can not read minds. They are there to give you suggestions, and to guild you, and listen, and yes they do give feed back, and can tell you what they see is going on,and what they think may be wrong with you.

Now you have just proved your daft, all they do is pretend to listen, you pour your heart out, feel a whole lot better listening to yourself, and get on with your life.
Now in days of yor this guy was called a priest and had a confessional.
