My husband and I were out for lunch today and as we came home he began to feel sick (both vomiting and diarihea). However, the same food he and his friend ate, his friend didn't get sick. He is still sick and not well. I suspect he has some type of flu bug. Anyone know?

My husband and I both had a 24-48 hour stomach type flu. Exact same symptoms you described. We got it in December and it was horrible! Hopefully you will be feeling better tomorrow!

As long as he and his friend did not share the same food, it is possible for him to have food poisoning and his friend be fine. Some people may be better protected naturally against certain food poisonings. But yes, there is a bug that is going around that lasts about 24 hours with flu-like symptoms, followed by 2-3 days of feeling down, and then it passes.

It is most likely food-borne illness. You never know what was different about the 2 plates that were prepared. Most 24-hour illness where gut problems and vomiting are involved are food-borne. Flu does not necessarily have gut involved, but does have body ache and fever and lasts several days.

14 people in my family just had it. I forget what my stepmom called it but she said some people came back from some cruise w/ this nasty bug of vomiting and diarrhea for several days.
