the catholics don't understand logic. birth control, not only helps prevent unwanted births, like fifty mexicans to a family, but sometimes (not always) it can prevent diseases. the catholic church says a lot of things. it also seems that the catholics pick and choose which sins they will avoid and which sins they will commit. it doesnt' say anywhere in the bible that condoms are a sin, because when the bible was written, there were no such thing as condoms. maybe they think that if there are more catholics, there will be more money$?$?$??

What does global warming have to do with condoms?

You're statement is not entirely accurate. The Church has not told people "not to use birth control". It has, and continues to tell, people not to use "artificial contraception". The Church also advises people to use "natural forms of birth control".

Let's just look at this logically. Why do you want to settle on an artificial method of birth control that is, at best, 70% effective - when natural birth control can be as high as 100% effective?

Condoms do not guarantee that couples will not conceive, nor are they guaranteed to stop the spead of sexually transmitted diseases. Therefore, what good are condems?

Consider abstinence...it is 100% guaranteed not to result in a pregnancy AND there is no risk of transmitting disease from one person to the next.

This is not a pipe dream. This is for real. Studies show artificial birth control is not 100% effectice. Natural guarantees abstinence to work 100% of the time.

Will some people opt for artificial birth control anyway? Of course, but they will be accountable to themselves for the consequences.

The Church is not going to lift it's ban on the use of condoms simply because there are people out there who cannot control themselves.

A little self-mastery can go a long way.

Global warming is a man made idea which has yet to be proven without pseudoscience. Birth control isn't natural. Birth control is a means of trying to cover up mistakes. Sex used in the right way never needs birth control. In that sense the catholic church is right.

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).
3. Married couples should welcome God's gift of children and, therefore, artificial birth control was against the will of God.

If the world is going to ignore teachings about chastity (1 & 2), then why is the world so upset about teaching artificial birth control (3)?

People who are already ignoring the more important teachings about chastity (1 and 2) should have no problem ignoring the less important teaching of artificial birth control (3).

Even if a person infected with AIDS was to use a condom to help protect his or her spouse, condoms are not 100% effective (read the box) and the spouse may be infected and die anyway. A person who truly loves their spouse would not endanger them in this way.

In regards to sex outside of marriage, the Church makes it a practice not to tell people how to sin. Fornication with or without a condom is still fornication. Adultery with or without a condom is still adultery.

With love in Christ.

The Catholic Church is good for telling people the high and mighty truth of what everyone is supposed to go, but when it comes to practical solutions to our most pressing problems, the Catholic Church is rather lacking. Their are over 6 Billion people in this world. Realistically, we cannot sustain this level of population growth indefinately. We are near the breaking point. Birth Control is the only real practical way to reduce global population. But that goes against the teachings of the Catholic Church.

If there is a contextual correlation between the issues - Global Warming and Birth Control it escapes me.
But...since you brought-up the subject of BC - contraception being banned by the Roman Catholic church, doesn't abstinence
from sex, per se, constitute sin? And, if so, doesn't every instance of abstinence earn a sin? (Not tonight, Honey. I have a headache.!@#$%^%&!)

I don't see how the two are connected. There are many, many experts who say that global warming is a direct result of man-made pollution. And the catholic church is of the opinion that preventing a pregnancy, in any way besides abstinence, is a form of murder. What is the relation here? I just don't understand.

Catholicism teaches that the unitive and procreative aspects of the marital act cannot be separated, which is why it also opposes in vitro fertilization. There is no teaching on the use of contraception outside of marriage.

Because the poor give them money to spend on flashy dresses and hats.

Catholics secretly believe that global warming is caused by all those hot gays and they want to get rid of that...just wait and see...:-D

Why Doesn't It Like Birth Control?
here is why.....

less catholic children means less catholic adult parishoners someday.

less adult parishoners means less money in the offerings each Sunday.

less money in the offerings each Suday means less money goes to Rome.

clear enough?
