"Unto evening and morning two thousand three hundred days"... That is, six years and almost four months: which was the whole time from the beginning of the persecution of Antiochus till his death.

Definition:
Daniel 8:13,14 says that after 2,300 days "then shall the sanctuary be cleansed". The cleansing will come at the End of the Week. By necessity, the 1st 220 days of the 2,520 day Tribulation Week must be the time in which the Temple must be prepared, so it can be started up and still leave 2,300 days until the sanctuary is "cleansed".
