I would pay close attention to the type of discharge (and re-enlistment) codes of any veteran. Somebody with a general discharge is going to get extra scrutiny.

Bad A** from Texas ... Sorry, but if you got a "general," then you're going to find things a little tough, more than likely.

I have a suggestion, though. If you find that the employers you want to work for are not thrilled about your discharge, I suggest you look into starting your own business.

People, these days, often jump before they see where they're going to land. This is especially true for young people. However, I hope things will not go too badly for you. But don't overlook your own business.

In a government job yes, But a public sector job no. If you want a job and have to take a civil service test one of the question is are you Honorably discharged from the military, If not you have to explain the reason for discharge.

Depends on the employer, most are probably okay with it as long as it is not a dishonorable discharge

How you fulfill your Military obligation is a good indicator of what type employee they will be. You volunteer for the military & need to do a good job & wait for your contract to end. My husband likes to hire military who have served well, they are his 1st hire if qualifications are equal.

I would not think so, I would think the only one that a employer would hold against a job seeker , would be a dishonorable one.
