Wow, I've heard of only those that insist on the child being out of them, not in. Either change daycares, or put up with it until circumstances change [child reaches older age category]. Or find some way to change the policy, like getting other parents with you to put up a big fuss.

That is interesting. I know that most 3 year olds are just finishing getting the hang of potty trainning so they will still have a few accidents. I think if she is at that stage she's ok in pull ups. If the day care wants her in diapers you should talk to them and tell them, " I wish for my daughter to be in pullups or regular underwear, she is no longer allowed to wear diapers,"
Let your daughter know that pullups are for big girls. Then you should have a talk with the director of the daycare. You are her mother, if they do not comply with your wishes, find a daycare that will.

I had the same problem. My step daughter is now 4 and is starting to revert back! She doesnt wear pull ups and hasnt since age 3 and 2 months but has been having accidents after all this stressful potty training! Try to explain that diapers are not for big girls, if you truly talk it through with her she will eventually realize her friends are using the potty and be embarrased of her pullups!

Is this a state certified daycare? My son was in daycare and potty trained at 18 months, and they were really happy to take him to the potty and not change his diaper...you may consider switching daycares. I dont think keeping your daughter in pullups that long is good for her, especially when she knows how to use the potty.

That's interesting. At most daycares I know of you HAVE to be potty trained by 2-3ish. I'm sure exactly when (we haven't gotten there yet). I've never heard of a daycare required pull ups when they should be potty-trained. I would switch daycares. Your daughter needs to have the same requirements for behavior at school and at home so look around for a daycare that agrees with your practices at home.

I never hear of a licensing rule requiring pull-ups for preschoolers! actually, the opposite is usually true. Licensing says the kids need to be potty-trained and NOT in pull-ups while in preschool. contact your state licensing agency and find out/ talk to the director. maybe you need to check out other day care centers. this is abuse!!!! they are basically forcing kids to wear 'diapers'. As a preschool teacher, I have a couple of threes that still have accidents. I taught them how to change their own clothes. But I never would want these kids in pull-ups! they are too hard for some kids to pull down quickly.

I am a teacher, and I am sickened when I see a school being as outrageously selfish as this one. That preschool is being LAZY and is harming your daughter's growth. My mother-in-law would often leave my son's diaper on, and just recently he had severe swelling and bleeding on his bottom. The doctor said that it was probably from leaving the diaper on in the hot weather. Where I live, it can get up to 40 degrees Celsius. Find another preschool and see about lodging a complaint against that school. They should not do things that endanger a child physically or psychologically.
This is a perfect example of why we need stricter regulations on preschools. Parents often tell me stories that make me terrified to send my own son to preschool; and I'm a teacher!

Very difficult situation. My daughter also used pull-ups as diapers. So it was worthless. Could you press the issue? Perhaps using underwear at home would be sufficient to keep up the potty training. If they are really inflexible, could you switch daycares?

That is CRAZY! My son is the exact same way and the only way that I got him potty trained was just putting regular underwear on him. He too knew that Pull-Ups would be just like a diaper. I would discuss it with the director of your daycare and see how it is that anyone gets their kid potty trained like that. Good luck!

Switch daycares! I've NEVER worked at a daycare that says they HAVE to wear them, kids have accidents--it's part of the job they are PAID to do, albeit not much pay. I'd ask to see where the state licensing says she needs to wear them...
