Jesus said,
"If you do not forgive others, then, your father in Heaven will not forgive you".
That is the clearest verse in the Bible. It is easy to understand.
How do you expect to go to Heaven if God "will not forgive you"
Jesus never said his blood would forgive you for holding a grudge against someone. -- Only Paul and Peter said that.
What do you not understand about "will not forgive". ?

Dear Monica,
You have just explained what Jesus said about being born again.
And, by deduction, you have explained "what was the original sin?"

When a person really hurts you or hurts someone you love, it is very difficult to not hate them. When a person who has hurt you and plans to hurt you again, it is about impossible not to hate them.
In both cases, our society, and maybe God, would agree to quarantine them away from the harmony-loving people of this world. In other words, put them in Jail, and watch them for a while, and if you think they have changed their ways, then give them a fresh start.
what I am thinking is: Put the person in Jail and then forgive them? I know it would be tough for me to go through what you folks have gone through.

The qualities of the Holy Spirit, "being slow to anger, patient, long-suffering, meek, gentle of spirit...." these are the qualities of a Christian. I don't have the heart to hold a grudge. I have to forgive, because if I hold onto anger, I am the one who hurts. I cannot be helpful to anyone else, be loving to my family or friends, or encourage others to learn about Jesus and His teachings, if I am holding a grudge against others. I can forgive, but this does not mean that I forget. It is important to work through the emotions and get to a place of peace. The Lord is a God of Peace.
In another part of the Bible, it says:" If you have ought with your brother, then go to him, " and mend it.
The more you forgive others, the more you come to realize the strength the Lord gives you. It is not in our nature to be slow to anger, but it is something we learn.
Am I going to heaven? God is my Judge. I am not the one to determine that. But I do know what God expects of me, and my intention is to honor Him.

I ask you this before you say that we all must forgive so easily. I have a little girl. When my little girl was 15 1/2 months old, her babysitter shook her nearly to death. How do you forgive someone who hurts such a defenceless little girl? How do you forgive shaking a baby until their brain swells to the point of nearly killing the child? How do you forgive the person who hurt your little girl and took half of her brain away from her all because she cried? I can forgive alot. Do what you will with me, but not my little girl who has barely begun to walk. I cannot forgive that. I cannot forgive that.

Who's holding a grudge? I agree the message is clear, don't expect to be forgiven if you don't forgive others. When I ask for forgiveness from God I also inventory anyone I haven't forgiven. What exactly is your point?

I will not go to heaven but I do hope to be one of the meek who will inherit the earth and live forever upon it. (Psalm 37) I don't believe that anyone who cannot forgive will inherit everlasting life because God is giving us so much help to become the sort of people he wants us to be in order to fully appreciate and enjoy life here.

Look - forgive and forget. That's my motto.
I know i will get into those pearly gates because i will recant my sins on my death bed.
God can not deny a child into heaven, for we are all his creations.
There is no hell - that is a peice of made up clap trap invented to scare little children to eat their beans.

Forgiveness is like repentence. Sometimes you need to do it over and over and over again before you get it right, but God knows your heart and he knows of your sinful nature and earthly limitations. If we pray for it He will help us to see where we are holding unforgiveness and help us to release it to Him and cleanse our hearts.

Nope, I do not want to go to heaven. It sounds like an outlandishly dull place to me. Oblivion is better than eternal boredom.
