The amount of sales/revenue you need to generate in a given period (week, month, quarter or year). In order to be considered up to par and on track with where you should be. These quotas are pre-set for you and you should be aware of what they are. Failing to meet these quotas on a consistent basis, in most cases, will result in eventual termination. Exceeding these quotas can result in certain awards and accolades (i.e. Sales Top Gun, Presidents Club, etc.)

It is the amount of sales a sales person needs to generate. The quota (or amount) is usually set by the sales person's boss or management and the sales person usually needs to hit his quota to qualify for any bonuses (or maybe keep his job).

it is a sales goal set by a company for an individual or a store.

it is a number you are reasonably expected to to meet, often based on a previous number plus an added amount for growth.

e.g. last february you sold 500 pairs of shoes, this february you are expected to sell 600 pairs of shoes.

the 600 pairs of shoes is your sales quota for the month of february.

hope this helps
