I've subscribed to Satellite High Def tv service and I have an Hi Def LCD tv . The satellite tech who came out used ypbpr cable and not the hdmi cable. Will either give me the very good quality w/o noticeable difference. Will HDMI cable be much better for this setup and much better quality? Basically ,I'm asking YPBPR vs. HDMI? Thanks!

HDMI would certainly give better performance being a 100% digital transfer path with no down conversion. There would be significant difference in the black level(contrast),vivid Red,Blue & Green color spectrum.HDMI not only transfer video but also digital audio on the same cable

> YPBPR cables, the television recognizes that it extremely is showing 1080p@60hz, > yet as quickly as I run it for the time of the HDMI cable it says it extremely is showing 720p@60hz. you probable could set the Xbox HDMI output to 1080p yet it particularly is greater powerful, and could you tell the version is yet another question until eventually you get a series above 32 inches, you will not see the version in 1080/720 At 40, it extremely is basically remodeling into seen At 50, it extremely is seen and noticable. you apart from could choose a television set that has an entire HD (1080) decision not 768 or something in between it particularly is scaled from 1080/720 now, if it extremely is as you're saying, then analogue on short cables 'could' be greater powerful than HDMI yet on longer or undesirable cables, HDMI would be greater powerful (even at 720 v 1080) HDMI provides drawing instructions, the television domestically 'attracts' the image - so it extremely is suitable Analogue sends the actually image yet scanned, and a few television's even test it badly, so even short cables could nicely be a adverse image. The longer/poorer the cables the greater the image gets lost. hence HMDI drawing instructions in digital words, in no way wander off or broken, and are drawn completely via the television internally every time. (whether the reveal is 768 not 720 or 1080) So probability is that HDMI will constantly supply you a greater powerful image no count what reveal length or distance, yet do get the xbox to output in 1080 in case you could.

HDMI in theory should be better, and many people think the difference is clearly visible. In any case, the difference will be small. However, there is no reason not to use the HDMI cable, and you can get them for reasonable prices here http://www.ehdmi.com/ or here http://www.monoprice.com/home/index.asp

One potential issue with YPbPr connection is that there is no copy protection. If your TV is HDCP compliant, you won't have to worry about the possibility that the YPbPr output might be "down-rezzed" to non-HDTV quality for certain programs (by the station transmitting what is called the "broadcast flag"). So far, this is not happening, but it is alway a possibility.

HDMI supports 1080P, the YPBPR does not. However, there is no visual difference between 1080i and 1080p, but the HDMI cables will enable a clearer picture.
