ok, i have to shave under my arms more than three times a week and it leaves my skin in a horrible condition. i get dark stubble, irritated skin and sometimes pimpels. what are some alternatives that are not waxing. i am afraid to even use products such as nair and veet, because whenever i use them on my legs or arms it leaves me with a rash for about two days. i am going on a cruise in a month and a half, and i really want my underarm hair to be out of the way. (i have tried plucking, but it hurt and got infected) please help.

They have lotion specially formulated for skin bumps due to shaving at your local grocery store. And get baby oil for the shower and put it under your arms before you get out of the shower.

Use a razor with 4 blades. Like schick quattro. It gives a closer shave without irritating the skin. Also when it grows back it grows straight and wont grown back into the skin and cause bumps.

You can also try a deplitory cream such as Nair. just dont use nair after youve shaved.

Laser hair removal has been cleared by the FDA as "permanent hair REDUCTION" because after studies were done they did not find conclusive evidence that suggests permanency. Laser hair removal (depending on which machine is used, skill of the technician, the number of treatments and time interval of treatments) can achieve great results most commonly if you have light skin and dark, coarse hair because laser works with the contrast between skin and hair color. If you ave very dark skin, laser has a very low chance of workign for you and your skin may become burned or pigmented. If you have light skin and blond hairs, laser will not work for you. It is best to do your research on all the different laser devices available to date and to go to someone who has experience (usually a doctor, not a spa advertised in the newspaper). The only permanent method of hair removal to date is electrolysis but it is very slow, time consuming, painful and expensive as each follicle needs to be treated on an individual basis.

Usually, the price for professional waxing is $15-20 a pit ... and it's definately worth it for a cruise. You'll want to take along your razor for the few strays that refuse to go away ... but for the most part, you'll definately be happy for the splurge!

Maybe you should stop doing something unnatural and that causes you pain simply to fit in with societies sexist demands. There is a reason people have hair. On your head and body, it helps keep in heat. On your arm pits and genital area it helps protect areas of sensitive skin. It is natural and good. Stop abusing yourself for vanity.
