I'm young AND a girl. I don't really excercise, but in the past year my appetite has JUMPED. And I know it's not the "you're a growing girl" or whatever.
I'm just constantly hungry. I have to eat so much to feel temporarily full. It's been the cause of a recent weight gain that I am definetly not happy about.
I can eat as much as my dad [gym mofo] or my cousin [who's 26 and excercises like crazy] easily. And they eat A LOT. Something's wrong here?
I eat balanced meals, generally. I eat enough vegetables and more than enough fruit. But because of my hunger, I can't help snacking on Maria cookies or whatever's in my reach.
Help?! I just want to stop feeling so hungry all the time!

Eat lots of meat or proteins (lean if possible). These keep you full.
and stay away from empty sugars and sweets and fat

Drink 8 cups of water per day. It keeps you mildly full and keeps you healthy. You can also chew gum. It keeps your mouth with a flavor and as you chew it you won't have the urge to eat.

Also, you can brush your teeth at least 3 times a day. When your mouth is fresh from a minty toothpaste, you'll be less inclined to eat anything for at least a few hours.

You may want to try Ensure or Slim Fast. Loaded with protein, they will keep you full so you can eat in moderation.

Also, you should start exercising. Play some sports or go out running one day. You'll burn calories and feel less guilty about the eating.

You probably already know this, but no matter what, don't go start starving yourself , etc.

If you decide to follow this advice, i'm sure you'll be just fine

good luck!

I experienced the same thing when I was about 17. I suddenly packed on a lot of weight, and didn't lose it until I was 22. I also have a huge appetite,to this day.I have to make sure I eat enough PROTEIN. Cookies, bread, junk food, even cereal..they all taste yummy, but they do not fill you up. I add cottage cheese to lots of meals, a good snack to have is cottage cheese mixed half-and-half with yogurt. Just choose healthier foods whenever you can,and try to get more exercise. And one more important thing--don't obsess about your body. Really. It just makes things worse and I know for me, when I feel bad, I want to pig out. It's a vicious circle.

Firstly try chewing gum. It will keep your mouth busy and off of eating. Second ask your doctor about it if you are concerned. And last try to east small meals throughout the day, this will help curb your appetite, and snack on fruits and veggies or something low cal in between if you really need to munch.

I would try to drink more water, as sometimes we think we are hungry when we really need hydration. Im not sure of your age, nor is it so much my business, but your gymMOFO dad's metabolism is probably slower than it used to be. You might be one of those people who is genetically blessed with a high metabolism. Keep eating fruit and veggies, but try to add in more protein in your diet, that should stay with you longer, and help prevent so much snacking. Otherwise, just snack healthy. hope this helps.

depending on how old you are it is normal to gain weight and eat more. you have to becareful that you don't gain too much weight because it won't distribute evenly. I gained weight during puberty, but it distributed eventually.
