Hey everyone! My fiance and I were planning on moving into this "fixer-upper" house and It's around allllllllllll of his family .. I mean like 50 feet and you can be near his uncles house! Its like that with all of his family too! His family and I get along sometimes, but as a human, I get aggravated with him (as well as they do with me probably) but any he asked his sister-in-law and brother if he could move into the house beside them and they said well im not going to change the way I am for you if you do end up moving into that house. They really never gave us a straight up answer, but they said that we needed to have someone come and check it out to make sure it was still fixable (which we knew it was!) and then check back in with them. But back to the point, she said that they were gonna have all their parties etc up there all throught the night, & with my fiance and I starting out, we're going to be working all the time and it will be rough... what should we do? please help!!!!!!

If you have to move there, make sure you and your man have set rules on just how much his family will be coming over. Good Fences make good neighbors, and even better tall fences when it comes to living next to his family. I live about 15 min away from my mother-in-law and still want to shoot myself every time I hear she is coming to visit. Best of luck.

DO NOT DO IT! My mother in law lives 5 minutes from me and no matter how many times we tell her not to just show up she does anyways. When she needs ANYTHING she calls us and it is really annoying. You need to have some distance so you can live your own lives and not want to scream. There have been many of fights bewteen my husband and myself because she is ALWAYS around. and she wants EVERYTHING from us. Family that is to close will always think they can call you no matter what they need because apperently thta is what family does. I am not saying you should not do anything just not EVERYTHING. You need distance to be happy!

If I were you I'd get the hell away from his family and yours. It will not work out if you move in too close to family. Believe me. Been there, done that, didn't work out.
