Well, just because Jesus's Birthday is CELEBRATED on December 25th, that doesn't man it actually IS on the 25th!
Ask your son when HE thinks their birthdays are, and decide to celebrate the birthdays on THAT day! Even if it is with just cupcakes, it would be a fine way to celebrate!
Actually, the poster below gives some good advice; find out according to the calendar when St. Joseph's Day is. That is probably Joseph's birthday!
Okay, I just looked up "St. Joseph's Day" on Wikipedia, which says that St. Joseph's Day is March 19th. It is traditionally an Italian Feast day, so be sure to sober up from St. Patrick's Day two days before!

Here is how I would handle that:
"You know what, Johnny? That is an awsome question, and how wonderful of you to remember Joseph and Mary in that way. That was a really really long time ago, and they did not keep track of birthdays back then.
Tell you what...how bout we make Mother's day Mary's birthday, and Father's Day Joseph's birthday?"

Actually, Jews and Christian considered the "birth day" or date of birth to be interesting only to those of Pagan worship, because only THEY celebrated it. They could celebrate anniversaries, the Passover, etc., but other than the normal holy days, it never once crossed their minds to celebrate a "birth day" it would be like asking an American to celebrate Bastille Day (France's Fourth of July (14th July)). I mean, sure, lets be nice and friendly, but it just doesn't MEAN anything to me.
The ONLY 2 Birthdays in the Bible were mentioned ONLY because there were murders AT BOTH. The first was in the O.T. and the Baker died. The 2nd was in the N.T. and Christ Jesus' 1st Cousin, John the Baptist died because Salome did a "sexually suggestive" dance for her own Father. She then gave the head to her mother.
Death days or the day of people deaths are usually marked. At least more so than Birth dates. As the Bible says, "And the day of one's death is better than the day of one's birth." Eccl 7:1

Traditionally Mary's birthday is considered to be Sept. 8 (Dec. 8th is the day when Catholics celebrate her conception).
I've never heard any date given for Joseph's birthday.
