i cant figure out what these 2 lines mean. it is part of a sonnet

For thy sweet love remmeber'd such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings.

Translation: "For when I remember your sweet love, I feel so wealthy that I'd refuse to change places even with kings."

It seems pretty straight forward. For me the lines say,"When I think of your/our love I would not trade it for the wealth of a king."

but then i had to be put down/avoid my position with the kings

I just spent some time re-drafting this as you ask but then saw Nelly's version and thought hers so excellent have deleted mine.
