Well, yes; just as evolution is an abomination to Christians. I'm not sure I know exactly why they say that, but honesly, I have witnessed scientists arguing as emotionally and illogically as many Christians over this evolution-creation issue. And science does seem to give a certain purpose to the lives of many, must like religion does.

Dear mullah robertson,
Sometimes, anything that is done with great zeal and persistance is said to be done religiously (I guess that's because that's the way religion is done). I see some similarities between science and religion. They both are aware of powers beyond us having affects on our life. Science would call it 'Mother Nature' and religion calls it God. I guess that's where the similarities end, because religion wants people to accept everything on faith. Where science wants hard logical proof. Either one is OK in moderation. Neither one is OK when taken to extremes.

I think it would, but not number 1, believing in creationism would be number 1, and miracles would probably be number 2. Intelligent design isn't nearly as obnoxious as creationism, because that just means the world was created in 7 days, which is complete BS.

Science is not a religion. Science is based on fact. Creation and Evolution are religions, because they both require faith. Faith in God, of faith in Charles "Monkey Man" Darwin.

I think you have confused science and scientism. The former is not a religion, the latter is. The latter is a BELIEF (and quite religiously held) that science is the test of everything, and the determinant of what's true and real, and that the naturalistic and materialistic assumptions of science are infallible.

I think I heard people like Ann Coulter say something like liberism is religion in her books. They're just semi-intellectual mumbo jumbo. I don't buy those pop culture religion vs science arguments. They're just too wacky and obviously meant to provoke anybody who oppose their views.

Science is not a religion, but many people make science their idol. God created science, and He should be more important to you than it, or anything else for that matter.

All beliefs that required faith is called religion. The difference is whether your religion leads you to eternal redemption or not. In that case you call it true religion.
