I need to know if there is an amendment to this years tax form so I can claim the interest and tax's I paid in 2005. I only made 5 payments that year and could'nt itemize.

You can only claim expenses in the year you incurred them. So, the only way you can claim 2005 expenses is on a 2005 tax return. You can't carry them forward to 2006.

You cannot claim interest and taxes paid in 2005 on your 2006 tax forms. You could file an amended 2005 form, however if you did not have enough deductions to exceed the standard deduction, then you should not make the change. The standard deduction that you apparently claimed for 2005 is intended to cover all deductions that you were otherwise entitled to.

when you make a mistake you have to fill out a 1040X and file it, go to irs.gov and there is a help line number to call if you have questions, i find them very helpful and they will even double check your math too
