I've heard George Carlin ask a similar question in an act...It's a fair question, but maybe that prayer was also a part of his divine plan...

There are all kinds of prayers and if you really have faith mountains can be moved just look at the San Bernardino mountains there are houses everywhere...someone must of have had faith to move those mountains and put houses, Resorts and all kind of Real State... and about God changing his Divine Plan just for you...Who knows God can do anything He pleases...you are allowed to try, and that's for sure. good luck, and may God Bless You

If god wants to show his plan then why does nothing happen when you pray? If you can't change his plan by praying then why bother? Am i allowed to ask more questions?

No. God specifically asks us in his word to not be afraid to come to him. Refusal to take help from God is arrogant or ignorant at best.
Praying is not synonymous with change. Praying is just a cry for help. And don't worry, God can handle it.

Since when do we just pray when we want things changed?
But I do think that sometimes he does change what would have happened without our prayers. I think its a way of letting him know that we really do see his hand in all things, and it is a way for him to acknowledge to us that it is.

Sometimes I pray that He will change His plans and His Spirit fades, when He leaves as soon as I am over my selfishness He comes back.

If your kid asked you for bread would you give him a snake?
God is really personal,he treats us on a one to one basis.Read John if you dont believe me.
As for how we fit into the divine plan?
We are all free willed, some peiople fall in love with how clever they themselves are.
You can choose to listen to what God has to say to us or you can choose to miss out.your choice.

Yes, because I'm a sinner and fortunately, God does change his mind when one repents.
