First off, you should mention what kind of puppy it is. That would definitely help with the naming process. Is it going to be a big dog? A miniature?
If it's a big dog you may try names like:
Gallieth
Apollo
Caeser
Galileo
Hercules
Napoleon
Makavelli (check spelling on that)
Titan or Thor
or maybe Zeus?
If it's a small dog:
Plato
Orion
Atlas
Aesop....
Just some thoughts...Too, you can always do a dog name search on Yahoo.

what kind of dog is it.all you have to do is play and get to know the dog personalty.then you will come up with a name.i had gotten a small dog.8 years ago.she was very playful we spoiled her allot and i name her princess.good luck in finding the right name.is it a boy or a girl and what does the puppy look like.

What about Hooch, like in Turner and Hooch the movie. Strong but friendly! Just selective in who they are friendly to.

Duke, Boss, Jake, or you could just name him Dog. John Wayne did in one of his movies. He used the name to tell the dog to do just about everything. Like if he wanted him to heal he would just say dog, or if he wanted him to attack he would say "Dog". It was kinda cool.
