I've had super long hair and I've been thinking about cutting it off -- all of it. I have a wide, celtic face and a slightly weak chin, high cheekbones, and fine, straight dense hair. Any general style ideas?

cut it shorter like above your shoulders and get it A-lined and stacked. the stacked will give you some height and volume which will help for your weak chin and high cheekbones!! I think it would look great. good luck!

Pleanty. Your style, however is probably very different.
Tips:
1. Try holding/tying up your hair to the lenghth you want, to see it.
2. DO NOT chop it all off at once. Multiple visits is better than suffering a horrible cut.
3. MAKE SURE the cutter understands completely what YOU want. A lady once cut my hair two inches shorter because "it would look cute"

I think with your face shape you still need some length, and a straight across cut will help elongate your face. Don't do layers, unless you get it cut short and plan to work with it a lot each day. Also, don't do bangs, unless it's a longish, slanted side bang.

if you do a drastic cut, make sure you donate to Locks of Love. they need at least 10-12" of hair. it's a great charity that makes wigs for people with cancer and other diseases.
anyway, for a wide face, i recommend layers.

Layer it and then flip it up in the back with bangs the contour your face.

cut it to below your shoulder, layered, with a side bang! it would give you a different look than what you have right now!
