1878 - 1932
Frederick Gray Ruthrauff was born in Findlay, Ohio on August 6, 1878. He studied in California with William Vincent Cahill and William Clapp, and in Paris with Henri Morrisett. A railroad executive who painted in his leisure, he was a resident of Berkeley, California at 2821 Hillegass Avenue until 1925 and then settled in Ogden, Utah where he was president of the Utah Art Institute until his death on February 15, 1932. Member: Berkeley Art League; California Art Club; Ogden Society of Artists. Exhibited: Public Works of Art Project, Southern California, 1924; San Francisco Art ***'n, 1925-27; California Art Club, 1929.
