Aleve and Advil/Motrin are different medications. All are used to treat pain and inflammation. You can actually take motrin every 4-6 hours as needed. Same as Advil. Aleve is usally dosed at every 12 hours, but may be taken up to 3 times a day if truely necessary. Just don't exceed max dosing. And limit the length of time on meds. Long term and constant use can lead to stomach upset. If this occurs take with food or milk.

You can take Motrin, it's a different base. Aleve is Naproxen while Motrin is Ibuprofen. You can also take Tylenol - it's great to take these medications, one after the other, because you can take one before the first one wears off without the fear of overdosing. If you ever have a question look on the back of the bottle for the main ingredient and cross check. Hope it helps.

Be very careful in doing this, as both drugs are considered NSAIDS. To be on the safe side, I would wait at least until it was time to take the next dose of Aleve (12 hours, I think) before you take the Advil. These types of pain relievers are hard on the stomach, so even if it did not cause any other unwanted side effects, it may cause stomach upset.

Not knowing why you are taking them, let me recommend a book on muscles, pain and referred pain - The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.
