I know catholics require you to give them 10% of your income and most the money benefits those at top. Most religions have a high degree of corruption especially the catholic and it's history.
I couldn't tell much about mormons.
witnesses work on donations not a set amount of money that you have to give. Financially there not that rich a religion.
Although I wouldn't think mormons are that rich but I don't know if they give each other financial support.

You tithe because the Bible commands it. We are to take care of the house of God and tithing pays the mortgage, electric, gas, water, sewer and other bills of the church as well as the salary for the pastor. "

thats part of the mosiac law a.k.a the old pact.
The religions mentioned above follow the new pact put into place by jesus wich made the mosiac law unnecessary.

"The Bible tells us "neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given to man whereby you must be saved" only through Christ ! Salvation is a free gift of God, you can't earn it or work for it just accept it!"
james talks about faith being dead without actions so you have to show faith through your actions

What are you even talking about? The JW are not forced to give money and they don't receive money. I chose this religion because it has the truth not for material benefits.
Most congregations hold meetings in a Kingdom Hall. These are usually simple structures built by Witness volunteers. You will not see any images, crucifixes, or things like these at the Kingdom Hall. Expenses are paid for by voluntary donations. For those who wish to make a donation, there is a contribution box. If we want to we can donate some money (as much as we want). Unfortunately I don't do that that often because I don't have a very good economical situation.

I imagine most join because they are convinced it is the truth. Friendship and acceptance offered by people in the church is probably a major factor in that--love is seen as a fruit of the religion, and who wouldn't be attracted to a religion where the people care about you?

As for the tithe, I doubt anybody but maybe a very small % are as crass and materialistic as you imply. And you will find people in any organization/profession/etc. (doctors, lawyers, politicians, fund raisers, tax-exempt orgs) who are only in it for the money.

Witnesses don't tithe or pass the plate. Nobody gets paid. Look at their web site and you will not even find way to donate. Other religions need to tithe, pass the plate, hold raffles, auctions, etc. to support their expensive building and the incomes of people who get paid to lead as no one will do it without financial gain.

I think it is solely for happiness, as that is what many believe is God's purpose for us. What these religions teach is a map for happiness. As far as financial backing...I don't think I'd want to have to rely on a churches financial backing, because that would generally mean I have faced some very difficult times. God desires that we all be educated and provide for our own, doing all we can before we seek assistance.

In the mormon church is a seductive and indoctronation thing. the seduction is the pagan side of the religion were I learned that I would evolve into a goddess and that God was once a man like I was. My Father already saw himself as almighty God. The indoctrination portion was the "works" part of the religion were there was so many things you had to do to get this Godhood. Sure there was recognition and fellowship because we had visiting teachers-two females every month and two men visiting us to make sure we were not falling away from the church, but they tell you what you will do and you only listen to the prophet of God, like the Pope. God is wathcing you like big brother and Satan is out to get you. You can assossiate with people outside of the church only to bring them into the church, otherwise, they are going to hell, so stay away from them. It was worse for women. They can be educated after they graduate in college, but if they get marriade, they have to quit college and make babies as many as possible.

Jehovah witness's and the Mormon's are cults, the followers often like to operate with the restrictions and limits put to them by their leaders. The Catholics feel they are the true church however man has crept into their practises and they often enstill a fear in the people if they don't march to their drummer.
It is only through Christ we can have freedom, He fulfilled the law and a faith in Christ is demonstrated by God reaching down to man through His gift to man "the Lord Jesus Christ". The other three are religions where it is a case of man striving to please God to earn favour with Him. The Bible tells us "neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given to man whereby you must be saved" only through Christ ! Salvation is a free gift of God, you can't earn it or work for it just accept it!

enable me the superb option you with reference to the Jehovah's Witnesses, we have faith that sure Jesus lived as a guy in the international yet he's the Messiah and became right into a spirit being in heaven in the previous he got here to Earth as a guy. we don't belive that The Archangel MIcheal(Jesus) became into an "extra suitable God" he's refered to as "a God" yet no longer the God and Jehovah is the ony real God, that section you get carry of the superb option, Jehovah and Jesus are no longer equivalent. Jesus became into crucified on stake(no longer a flow) and became into no longer re-created on the third day yet became into ressurected to return to his spirit life in Heaven.

Hmm. I never found a job through anyone through the Church. Tithing is a commandment in the Bible, by the way, in Malachi.

I think people find a structure that is comforting to them that they trust and changing is too uncomfortable...

it makes it tough to actually examine one;s faith or realize the shortcomings... but those three groups hardly have a monopoly on error
