Examination of the Lord Cobham : “Then said the archbishop unto him: ‘Sir John, we sent you a writing concerning the faith of the blessed sacrement, clearly determined by the Church of Rome, our mother, and by the holy doctors.’ …
(Cobham)‘I know none holier than is Christ and His apostles. And as for that determination, I wot it is none of theirs; for it standeth not with the Scriptures, but manifestly against them.’
(lawyer) ‘What is your belief concerning Holy Church.’
(Cobham) ‘My belief is , that all the Scriptures of the sacred Bible are true. All that is grounded upon them I believe thoroughly , for I know it is God’s pleasure that I should so do; but in your lordly laws and idle determinations have I no belief. For ye be no part of Christ’s Holy Church, as your open deeds do show; but ye are very Antichrists, obstinately set against His holy law and will. The laws that ye have made are nothing to His glory, but only for your vain glory

and abominable covetousness. And as for your superiority, were ye of Christ, ye should be meek ministers, and no proud superiors.’
The Lord Cobham said: ‘Your fathers, the old Pharisees, ascribed Christ’s miracles to Beelzebub, and His doctrine to the devil; and you, as their children, have still the selfsame judgment concerning his faithful followers. They that rebuke your vicious living must needs be heretics, and that must your doctors prove, when you have no Scripture to do it.’
…..but indeed Christ said: “Woe unto him, for that covetous act of his,” as He doth yet still unto many of you. For since the venom of Judas was shed into the Church, ye never followed Christ, neither yet have ye stood in the perfection of God’s law.’

Looks like he told the truth, but no one was listening. How about this comment? The Almighty YHVH created this world very good. Once man sinned, he could no longer meet the requirements of YHVH. Because of His great love for man, He sent His son the Savior. The Savior's name means YHVH is my Savior!--YAHOSHUA! The only way one can have his sins taken care of is to invite the Savior in to carry them. If a person chooses to remain attached to their sins, they will be consumed in the cleansing fire the Almighty will send to cleanse this world so He can make it new! How could the Almighty be more generous?

i think it is a very weak passage and as earlier is obviously a biased piece of work. the catholic church has at its core jesus christ as it was christ himself who gave us the catholic church again with the promise of the holy spirit. the very first christians whom were all catholic suffered many persecuitons, trials and many were martyred for christ. it is with these gallant brave christians that we have the word of god today, and all christians are forever indebted to the catholic church for the sacred scriptures the church protectred, preserved and defended even unto the death of many. like the saying goes if people knew the catholic church and not what they perceive it to be,we would all be catholic. lord cobham may have done well to take the test on fisheaters.com under protestant and basic, then maybe he would sing a different tune as would many others.(ofcourse i realize he wouldn't have been able to take the test, just incase i needed to add it...) the catholic church at times has made its mistakes, but lets make no mistake that it is the true holy church jesus gave to us and he showed us that yes sinners would be apart of it. at the reformation and at other junctures there was just as much misconduct from the reformers and others.

Why is this only directed toward Catholics?

I think that this obviously comes from a person with an axe to grind against the Catholic Church.

What did the Catholic Church ever do to you? Oh yeah, they actually were the FIRST Christian church.
