How would they use sign language? Or would they just be unable to communicate? How would this work?

There are some high tech gadgets either already available or in the works. I'm thinking something along the lines of a Blackberry or other computer keyboard with keys in braille if needed and the appropriate software. I'm sure if it's not invented yet, it can be and will.

You know Hannah, that is an interesting question. I've never thought about that. Maybe they could somehow use their feet in some ways. Like their toes maybe. I really don't know. That is interesting though. I would hate to see someone in that situation. It is heavy on my heart. I want to work with handicapped children and I couldn't imagine that. My sister's lil boy is 8 and he has Downs Syndrome and he does sign language. I try to help him speak, and he makes noises so he's trying. Anything is possible.

Fingerspelling...you can spell out everything letter by letter, on only one hand.
Trust me on this one--my parents are deaf.

You could do signs that only use one arm, and you can fingerspell the rest.
