not if you are switching radio chassis. If you want CD capability without changing the radio the easy way is to have a cassette player and buy one of those cheap add ons that has a dummy cassette that plugs into the tape chamber and is connected to a CD player that you work externally. WalMart has them cheap.

I'm not quite sure I understand the question. So did your original radio get stolen or something? Because if the car has a place for one you can install it. And even if the car never had one you can still put one in.
If your car had one but it's gone then just go buy the proper mounting kit and wiring harness for your car. Connect the stereo harness to the wiring harness you bought with but plugs and connect one end to your stereo and one end to your cars original stereo harness.
If your car is old and never had one then you'll have to run all new wires to everything. You'll have to run a constant power, an ignition power, a ground, and wires to all the speakers.

no as long you have you have just a factory radio you can install a CD player
