how do i grow a side-burn?

im a 16 year old.the nature of my hair is that there is no side burns...how do i change the root of my hair so that side-burns will grow?

This may sound strange but shave the sides of face for a while. Shaving seems to make hair grow in a bit thicker.

Keep shaving it when u do it grows in thicker.

I'm assuming you are male. Don't shave where you want the sideburns to be.
