If you're taking the kids/nephews/nieces/etc. to the beach, what do you do to get sand out of their trunks and booty's after?

I've seen moms actually take their kid by the shower pull from behind their trunks and just clean right their with their hands.

How do others handle this?

How do you help them get it out?

My mom would always take my brother and sisters into the shower and help them take a little shower before we went back home or to the hotel. It keeps irrition down. Plus, NEVER put them in the tub after having a sandy bootie. Its better to wash them with a cup letting the water run out. Otherwise, the sand gets on their little bottoms again :(

That's probably the best way to go about it! I definitely would suggest putting clothes on instead of having to do the car ride in really sandy, slightly wet swimming trunks. You just rinse off, take off the trunks, and then try to get whatever else you can off w/ the towel b4 putting on the undies. If they are really little you can take them into the bathroom, rinse them and everything off, and then put clothes back on them, but either way it's usually a temporary thing till you can get them back home and give them a real shower with actual clean fresh clothes on afterwards

I would take a pair of shorts along and have them rinse off, change and then you can get the sand out of the suit.

Rub them down with baby powder the sand will just fall right off and they will smell fresh and clean too.

Take off their shorts and wash them out in the sink at the bathroom and if there are showers wash off your child. That way there isnt any irritation. WOrked for both my girls and my boy.
