I am looking for a dessert to serve for a party I'm having close to Valentine's Day. I'd like to present the dessert in individual champagne or wine glasses (the plastic type). Anyone have any recipe ideas for this? How about suggestions where I can buy plastic champagne / wine glasses? Thanks!

You can sometimes find plastic champagne glasses at the Dollar store.

You can always make Mimosas (Orange juice and champagne), and get some raspberry liquer and float it on the top. Just be careful how you pour it, or mix some orange juice in with the liqueur and then pour it on top.

What a combo of ingredients! It’s easy! It's a no bake dessert! You can prepare this dessert in about 10 minutes, but it does need to chill before serving.

Serve in Martini style glasses or champagne flutes available at most dollar stores.

Kahlua Dessert Recipe
That’s right…Kahlua! And Ghirardelli Chocolate! :-)
Preparation time: Only 10 minutes! Sweet! Dessert Recipe serves 6.

Ingredients:
2 ounces Kahlua
1/2 cup of sugar
1 tablespoon fine instant coffee (your choice)
2 tablespoons ground Ghirardelli chocolate
2 cups of whipping cream

Instructions:
Chill a bowl and a beater
Put all ingredients into the chilled bowl and whip until stiff
Spoon into dessert glasses or put the mixture into a pastry bag and pipe it into the glasses
Serve topped with whipped cream and a liberal sprinkle of grated chocolate

YUMMMMMY!

For something really simple, you could layer the desserts individually as you would a trifle. For example, vanilla cake pieces soaked in rum and coffee/espresso, then sweetened whipped cream whipped with mascarpone, and finally cocoa/shaved chocolate (for tiramisu). Or, simpler, store bought sponge cake torn in pieces, then whipped cream (or if you're really desperate, cool whip) strawberries marinated in sugar, and repeat.

These are both gorgeous when layered and the champagne glass makes for excellent presentation. If you REALLY want to be fancy you can make a champagne zabaglione. It's time consuming but delicious. If you want more info I'd be happy to share, otherwise, enjoy the simpler treats!

As for purchasing plastic glasses, most party stores carry them, such as iParty...etc.

OK, first, you can get those plastic glasses at a party store. Then get a canteloupe. Use a melonballer to put about 3-4 balls in a glass. Fill with champagne and garnish with mint sprigs.

I've had this at Piatia's in Yountville in Napa Valley. It was exquisite. And so simple!

Chocolate mousse would be great for a valentine dessert. Another possibility would be ice cream topped with raspberry and chocolate sauces.

Or....serve a spumante (sweet sparkling wine) in the glasses and strawberries dipped in chocolate.

tapioca pudding with a little red food coloring to make it pink looks beautiful in champagne glasses.the tapioca pearls look like bubbles. a chocolate strawberry on top would be elegant.
Also, red or white grape Jello made with soda for carbonation is nice in the wine glasses.. Hope your party is a success, have fun!

party stores should have the glasses. you could also find them at an online party store.

chocolate mousse or trifle (layers of cake, whipped cream, fruit) would be good. also individual tiramisus (lady fingers with liquear, espresso and whipped cream) would be lovely
