here's a contradiction for you in the Bible..Deuteronomy 14:21 God tells the Israelites, his chosen people, not to eat the meat of an animal that dies naturally, which I agree with becuase you don't know what disease killed it that may also harm you, then in the very next line of the bible..he tells the Israelites that it is okay however to offer such meat as fare to strangers from other places visiting them. The contradiction? If God created us all and loves us all...why not protect all? Maybe he just loves some of his creation more than others...a god who has favourites...not a very godly trait..why need he have even a chosen people...aren't all his loving creation. Cruelty? ..read Job when he enters a city covered in suppurating sores and the little children are teasing him and he warns them to stop and when they do not he invokes God to send 2 she-bears that proceed to rip apart 43 children....such love for his innocent creation.
The most cruel of all....offering us the choice of heaven and hell.... so that we may risk our souls to suffer eternally in his absence...and saying such offering is an act of love. What a terrrible father he is to risk his children suffer in hell by offering them such a choice. You can keep him..I want no part of such a monster...good thing he's an invention of the cruel human mind and nature.

Have you seen those Optical Illusions where you look at the Picture one Time, and there are Two Vases. Then You look at it Another Time and There's a Face? It was all there, all of the Time, the Difference is how your Mind Perceives that Picture. What is going on in your Mind Colors how you see that Picture.
The Carnal Mind can't Understand the Spiritual Things of the Bible.
The Carnal Mind has to be moved into an Area where it Dosen't Color the Picture anymore.
Then the Spiritual Understanding can come Through the Reborn "SpiritMan" (a Born-Again Human Being).
The Contradictions start to Fade Away, Little by Little, as the Mind is Renewed to the Things of the Spirit after that Person gets Saved.

They can not see the contradictions and cruelty in Bible because:
1)they receive it blindly whatever they are
2)the writers or authors of Bible were humans not God/Allah
3)the Bible is not original any more
4)the writers made verses in Bible in line with their interests
5)they do not brave enough to say that the Bible contains many false verses.

there are no contradictions.and as for the Cruelty, the old testament is full of Holy wars. wars fought in the name of God with specific instructions on what to do with the spoils and who to let live and who were to be killed. i guess some would consider it Cruel, but think about it how many wars have been fought for a religion or a cause. all of them. so why look at it as cruel when even America has been in wars for religious causes and personal.

because when you study the bible properly you see that there are no contradictions. we have all the problems in the world and cruelty because of mans desire to sin. when you realise gods plan of salvation for mankind you will not be so caught up on so called 'contradictions" that don't exist and cruelty.

This question and ones similar to it have been asked a lot. I am very well aware of the contradictions and cruelty. You should listen to what Lewis Black says about the Old Testament.

You invent contradictions on purpose by deliberately misinterpreting parts of the bible. Why can't you see that?

You create cruelty and contradictions by reading into the text what isn't there.

Until you experience these things, they have very little meaning. Its as if it were a movie or a story. Until you drink of the cup of bitterness, how will anyone know how Christ felt in his agony while in the Garden of Gethsemane? You can't know.
But people do try to understand.

If they saw the contradictions and cruelty, they would not be able to use the bible to build up their religion around. Without religion, they would lose the power they have.
