I don't know about that particular supermarket, but in general I say go for the grocery store cake!! I'm sure you can get a sample or something beforehand, right? Fancy cakes are one of the wedding things that I think are the biggest waste of money unless you are really really into that. Grocery store cakes usually takes JUST as good, and in my opinion that is what matters. For some reason, and maybe it's just because I don't associate Target with bakeries, but I'd do the grocery store over Target. Or WalMart.

Almost all of your major grocery store chains that have bakeries have books that you can pick out a good cake in any price range. Since you don't say where you're from check on the stores in your area. If the have a Deli Dept they should be able to put together a sandwich platter, also. Happy Wedding!

I don't know where you live, but Safeway (I lived in CA) makes great cakes. If you want to spend a little more to get a really delicious one, try Bristol Farms.
Instead of going for a traditional wedding cake from a grocer, have them specially make you a very simple cake to your preference and decorate with fresh flowers. You wouldn' believe how lovely a simple chocolate or white frosted cake looks with some fresh flowers. And, if you like, some beautiful ribbon carefully wrapped around it.
I used to be a caterer, and when I dealt with people who were on a tight budget, this was always a suggestion I gave that was a good solution. Smoothly frosted (no peaks), with the flowers you like inserted gently in the center and here and there to the sides. There are some flowers that are edible too, such as pansies. Be sure to do your research on which are edible!
Browse the bridal mags for a look you like, so far as which flowers you choose.

Sam's Club and Costco have really good cakes. I would call them and let them know you are considering ordering a wedding cake from them. They will probably make you some sample cake for you to try and they'll show you pictures of cakes they've made. No matter where you decide to go, make sure you call first and have them set something like this up.....it helps!!!

depends on where you live. In the South, Publix has a great bakery they will even set your wedding cake up at the reception site for you. They also do party platters of all kinds.

I would think maybe Costco, or Fred Meyer's or Roth's IGA. Just not sure which side of the Country you live in. These are West Coast stores.
