IS there a specific temperature at which schools are legally obliged to close?

i don't think so...it just depends on how much snow and stuff there is. like if the roads are drifted shut then they'll close skewl but if it's just cold, i don't think they do.

Lake effect snow- you guys dont get it in chicago near as much as we do here in northwest Indiana and Michigan. We have almost 2 feet on the ground now here outside of gary.

No. They look at how far their students will have to walk or how bad, dangerous, traffic will be, and how many parents will complain if they don't close school.

Not that I know of. Unless the weather service said it was too cold. I wish. Its supposed to be really cold tomorrow where I live.

i think it is 10 degrees and lower for school to be closed
