cockatiels are larger, and do not have the bright vibrant colors that lovebird have. cockatiels have long flowing like tails and super cute personalities. Love birds have cute personalities too. But, I don't think they are as cute as tiels! lol.

Cockatiels and lovebirds are very different. A cockatiel is larger in size. Also, they are not bright in color. They are usually white or gray. Most have yellow on their head as well. Lovebirds come in a variety of colors and are short and somewhat puggie looking.

I suggest doing a google search for images of what the two look like ( www.google.com) Just click on the images tab. Type each one in separate. Also, just do a regular search with them. You will find out a lot about the two. I know that cockatiel can learn to mimic and that lovebirds are not the greatest at it.

cockatails are much bigger than love birds love birds eat a little more because they are constantly moving around cockatails are much more noisy because if you whistle to them they'll try to repeat it love birds will try to figure out a way to get out of the cadge mine do all the time.

I think the presence of a crest and a long tail is a great determining factor (both are characteristic of cockatiels).
