Yeah- and if you do it often it will cause you to get an ulcer. Bad! Eat something, even if it's a few slices of bread.

Yes, it is a well tried and tested drug and is approved to be taken in small doses, as recommended on the packet, even on an empty stomach. If in doubt consult a pharmacist. Incidentally, you may have a headache due to not eating, so take the tablets with some water and then try to get some toast down you or some easily digested food (porridge is ideal) this may help. If the headache persists for more than 4 hours, and even after you haver eaten, then phone a Dr for further advice.

No Tylenol (Acetaminophen) is the ideal pain reliever to take on an empty stomach because it does not attack the stomach lining. That is why a lot of parents give it to kids; however, you can OD on Tylenol; it can become toxic in your blood; do not exceed the recommended dosages and time limits specified (how often). Ibuprofen is a pain reliever as well as an anti-inflammatory medicine (unlike Tylenol which just relieves pain). Thus, if you have a sore or swolen muscle, you might want to eat something and then, take the Ibuprofen. Thanks.

Normally it is safe to take on an empty stomach if you are using it it now and then. If it upsets your stomach, or if using it for longer term, it is recommended to be taken with food. I would be cautious using it if your digestive system is already irritated. Maybe acetaminophen (Tylenol) would be better if that is something you are able to take.

You should take it with food or milk. Anything like a piece of bread or crackers or something. Ibuprofen can be kinda hard on a normal stomach, let alone one that is already irritated.

Read the label on the package. It should say whether or not it is safe to take on an empty stomach, though personally, I wouldn't. I would eat something, even if it's just a mere slice of bread or something small like that.

It really will irritate your stomach to no end with out eating something first. In some cases i.e. me... my stomach on occasion has actually bled from the irritation. Please be kind to yourself and drink a glass of milk or eat before taking it.

No, you can faint if you do not have something in your stomach! I am not kidding and please take me seriously, it is always better to follow any and all directions on the bottle of the medication! Eat something like a sandwich at least before you take ibuprofen, you need something filling!!!

Do read the literature on taking this medication before you take it. The manufacturer will give you specific instructions regarding food intake prior to ingesting the medication. Do take heed of their instructions, too, because not following instructions may aggravate or initiate side effects.
