I've gone to numerous bible studies, I've been preached to up the wazoo and I've gone to several of your churches.

I don't find any of it interesting, I don't believe a damn bit of it and I think much of the whole thing is a pile of crap.

What should my next step be?

God knows the contents of your heart.
"I don't find any of it interesting, I don't believe a damn bit of it and I think much of the whole thing is a pile of crap."
Do you really think God will open your eyes to the Truth with that attitude?
your next step should be a total attitude change.

If you don't have the desire to practice a religion -- then don't. As far as I'm concerned, you'll be just as "good" a human being if you're an atheist or agnostic, provided that you act compassionately and honorably. The important thing is that you're living with integrity and intellectual honesty. Admit that you don't want to be a religious person and get on with your life.

If you do have the desire to practice a religion -- well, it sounds like Christianity isn't working for you. Try Beliefnet:

http://www.beliefnet.com

which hosts the Belief-O-Matic quiz to determine which religion suits you as well as numerous forums and discussion groups where you can talk with others during your faith search.

For good objective information on a variety of religions (including the widely various types of Christianity) and spiritual paths, try Religioustolerance.org:

Best of luck to you on your path!

No one is forcing you to go to church. If you don't believe you don't believe. It doesn't matter if you find it interesting or not. But what keeps you coming back, I wonder? There must be something that holds you.

What should your next step be? Nothing! God doesn't need you. He loves you and wants you to go to heaven, not hell. He has given you a choice. The next step is up to you!

But let me say this, If I die and find that I was wrong and there was no God, I haven't lost anything, I led a good life. But what if you die and find that you were wrong, you didn't believe, and there is a God. Where will you be?

Did you ever consider asking God to show you who He really is and how much He loves you? And even more importantly, are you willing to listen when He does?

You've already got the mindset that you don't believe anything you've heard and that it's all a pile of manure. Of course you're not going to get anything out of it!

That's like going to a French class and saying, "I don't find any of this interesting, I've never been to France and I don't believe it exists, and I think all these lessons are a bunch of hogwash." Odds are good that you're not going to get much out of the class.

I suggest trying to approach the subject with a little more objectivity and see what happens. But the first step is talking to God directly and asking for His help.

Never give up... perhaps you are being tested.

sometimes it takes time.... I always believe in God, just couldn't understand reading the Bible at all when I was younger, it took me life learning experiences, and now I understand it all.

Pray to God with a sincere and compassionate heart, ask him to help you and guide you, be patient and pray at least three times the same prayer....anything, but do not ever give up.... pray for protection as well, that always works for me.
God bless you:)

What's wrong? Your heart is trying to be heard by you, but your conscious thought will not have any part of it. This is the war between the spirit and the flesh. Eventually, you will learn that your heart, feelings, intuition must not be disregarded or to allow conscious human thought to guide you on the path. Some learn this early on and others need some real hard times in life to open their (spiritual) eyes.

It is that way for most people, because it doesn't mean anything to you personally, and it doesn't 'come to life' so to speak without the Holy Spirit to illuminate it and help you understand.
I commend you for your persistance and openness. First off, you are doing some good simply by seeking, though I do get the impression that you are not very open to changing your opinion [not necessarily true, just a feeling]. Seeking is encouraged throughout the bible, esp. in the Psalms.
Simply put, I would recommend asking God directly to reveal Himself to you, in a way that you would reconize and understand. He says that He will give wisdom to all men who ask and believe He can. He also says He will reveal Himself to those that don't know Him.
Another method would be to really hang out with some people that are trying to truly follow God, just listen to their lives and their growing relationship with God. A person's own life and testimony are powerful eye openers. It is how we are supposed to communicate with those seeking anyhow.
Please don't give up, it is worth it, so worth it! And keep in mind, despite what people think, that being a believer is harder than most anything else in life, but we have a promise to help too:
Psalms 34:19 Many are the troubles of the righteous [those that believe in Him], but He delivers him out of them all.

Pray and ask God to work on your heart that you might be able to receive the sermons and have understanding when you read the Bible. You say you've gone to several churches, sometimes it takes time to find the one that God wants you at.

I wouldn't go on belief net, there's a bunch of nuts on that site, and its not a good place to go; too many liberal feminists on it.

Your next step should have been your first step. All of your experiences thus far are resulting from the state of your heart. Your heart needs to change. Believing in the Lord and loving the Lord has nothing to do with head knowledge... it is in your heart. Ask Him to come into your heart.

If you are seeking some kind of belief or faith may I suggest that you read Sylvia Browne's The mystical Life of Jesus. I am reading it myself and it is giving me alot of great things to think about .... good luck.
