Getting married and having kids doesn't even mean you'll be allowed to legally stay in the United States.
Immigration is not a right.
The American spouse will have to apply for a visa as sponsor for the non citizen spouse. You'll go through the same immigration procedures as everyone else.
Good luck.

You must apply to become a citizen but as the spouse of a citizen you may obtain a green card and live in the US for decades.

You must apply. Citizenship is only given to people who are born in the country or people who have been granted citizenship through the proper channels.

being married puts you at the front of the line...meaning you do not have to wait for a visa number to become available...they will create a number for you. but if you don't already meet the guidlines and qualification standards...it won't help. all being married does is give you first shot at applying.

Just because you have kids that are citizens does not make you a citizen or even give you priority.
APPLY - I hope you are legal, for your kid's sake.
Don't listen to the person above me - She's WRONG
