I love German shepherds. They're smart, easy to train, and have a lot of personality. Admittedly, that personality can be a little warped at times, but they're never boring to be around!

My first German shepherd was a search dog, and I really gained a lot of respect for the breed after seeing how quickly he learned the work. He also was capable of applying previously learned information to a new situation, which shows some very good reasoning skills.

And when he got sick, he was so loving and patient through all the tests and the problems. Cody never met anybody that he didn't like, and he'd even give chin kissies to the vets who were doing the tests and hurting him. It was like he knew that they didn't mean to and didn't want them to be upset.

My current German shepherd is the sweetest little female you could ever hope to find. She's a cuddler and a lovebug. . .the best of the best!

You just can't get better than a German shepherd as far as I'm concerned!

1. Chihuahuas. They are cute, small, smart, cuddly, very loving. We raise some awesome puppies.
2. Miniature pinscher. Another fun dog, very smart, playful, loving, a little hyper tho.
3. Mutts. I have a blue heeler mix named Gracie and she is such a terrific dog. We rescued her hours before she wopukd have been euthanized. We also recently rescued 3 beautiful lab/heeler mixes and they are wonderfu, beautiful pups.
4. Rottweillers. Wonderful dogs. Very loyal and protective. Very smart. They are not mean unless they are rasied to be that way.
5.Collie. My first dog was a collie exactly like Lassie. Beautiful, smart, looving, loyal.

German Shephards: Beacause they are agile being able to climb, jump crawl in lots of situations.
Stamina, they have the stamina to go the full mile and are ruthless in their pursuit to please.
Pleasers, they love to please their owners,.
Seekers, they love to seek and find objects people etc.
Scenting, they love to find different smells - especially a person.
Loyalty, always loyal to their owner.
Protective, like a lot of breeds protect when necessary.
Friendliness, knows if a person is a friend or foe.
Training, easy to train and pick up new exercises easily.
I could rave on for hours but thats my fav and would like to acknowledge there are a lot of other breeds with the same qualities but the Shephard outshines in their intelligence combined with all the above.
Besides, when people see a German Shephard in your yard they certainly think twice about approaching them or you. Their reputation exceeds them, they really are big beautiful idiots.

My favorite dogs are weeniedogs. I have 4 weeniedogs, 3 males and 1 female. Ages 9.7,5,and 4. They are all different from each other, one is grumpy, one is a fighter, my little girl is a wanderer and my baby loves to cuddle. I love all 4 of my dogs.

I actually have two favorite breeds, but everyone is attracted to different breeds which is good, because dogs are all different just like people. I like German Shepherds, and Akitas. Akitas are not good dogs for first time owners, but with alot of experience with larger breeds, they are great dogs. I love German Shepherds for their intelligence, and good nature, and protective abilities toward their families. I have always had German Shepherds when my children were growing up, and they were great family dogs!

I like mutts, best of two worlds.
Lab/Collie mixes, specifically.
I've had two dogs of that combination, and compared with the pure breed Collie and the pure breed German shepherd I had, the mutts were a lot better.
Plus then I can call them mutt and be politically correct.
