Why does one desire or crave things? why do we cling on to material items and useless things that cannot help us avoid death? They don't and America is now a corporation rather then a country.
Why to Atheists is life just "going along for the ride" and when you die absolute nothingness? how can one accept this and know that everything they have done is temporary and they wont gain happyness from eating fancy foods. How can "memories" help cause to you when you die its nothing there are no memories. we have developed far more then any other animal and you are making it seem like its a push over. How can one live with this!
And what if their is no after life! how can one accept this! I dont want to die! Its not fair how you all just take it as if its normal its not! How can we escape this suffering! by removing our cravings for this earth and accept Jesus Christ and God. my new religion is Christianity and Buddhism and no matter what you say i think its right.

So you are going to believe in jesus just because you are afraid that death is nothingness? That kind of faith won't last long.

I don't consider life just 'going along for the ride'. I live my life to the fullest being the best person I can be. Moral and law abiding. And I don't know that everything I do is just for the 'temporary'. I hope I make contributions to life that will benefit others in the future. That's all part of being a considerate human being. As far as an afterlife goes...there may be an afterlife. i don't know for sure but I'm not going to bet the farm on it. I don't let that notion rule my life. I worry about the present. The future will take care of itself.

You seem to be a little confused about the "life and death" issue, let me explain it to you this way-
It is a fact that everything in this world, either produce or consume or contains energy. We are not the exceptions, We come to this world, ie. we take birth because there is a certain amount of energy transferred to us in form of life. Now this energy, as we grow up, gets influenced by various factors around us, it can be society, atmosphere or geography. It is upto us how we mould this energy, that is within us to a better form. You know we being a human, have this quality to change the form of the energy given to us, and that is how other people and things are get affected by us in our day to day life. When we die, we leave all this energy behind, we set it free. Now its upto people what kind of energy they would like to leave after them. And this is how taking birth and dying is not a matter of nothingness but to spreading good or bad, positive or negative, constructive or distructive energies behind us.
Hope I have not made you more confused.
Take Care.

The trick is to leave something of yourself behind: A child or children, a work of art, a contribution to society, anything that makes your name live on. That's the real meaning of immortality.
