I find the same thing, but I work out my back and core mostly. I think your back just gets tired no mattter what you do because it is the center of your body and everything put stress on it.

Try stretching your back lots before and after, there are some really good yoga exercises that focus on the back. Also, don't work out every day or do less every other day, take a break in between.

It is important to keep the back straight. Exhale on the effort move, inhale on the relax move.

Don't just work on one part of the body. Give the part a rest and work on another area. Work on abs, one day thighs the next, and shoulders the next and then back to bi.

I would try to get a weight training class or instructor to show you the proper technique. In the long run it will be cheaper then hurting yourself.

Find a chair, in which the back of the chair ends halfway up your back. Put your hands on the back of your head with both arms bent at the elbows and lean backward over the back of the chair. Do two sets of 20 reps. This will stretch out your back. Thanks.
