Well a few days ago my lower wisdom tooth started to get swollen around the gums. Now it has gotten so bad I can't sleep and I can barely open my mouth either. So I have been using listerine adn ambesol but it only works for a while. I was wondering if it is a wisdom tooth that is too big for my mouth or an abcess on my gum. I also don't have insurance and can't afford a dentist I don;t know what I should do but I need the pain to stop someone please help!!!!

If it is a wisdom tooth it will only get worse.Sometimes you just have to make yourself afford something. The same with an abcess it will only get worse.

Its an infection in the gum surrounding the tooth. Find a dental school near you---they will do what needs to be done at a very affordable price, and also see if any dentists will take a payment plan. In the mean time rinse with warm salt water several times a day..it should help heal the area.

u can go to the dentist, and she or he will take a panoramic to see what happened with your wisdom tooth. i hope your tooth can erupt normally not tilt. if u don't resolve this problem immediately, it can cause pericoronitis, which is an inflamation in your gum. i hope u can do an odontectomy to extract your wisdom tooth or do a gingival flap to make a way for your wisdom tooth to erupt. but if u dont have enough money, u can consume analgesic drugs, such as ponstan..let's try

The only way that this will get better is to call a dentist and see if they have a payment plan and then make an appt to get it checked out. If it needs to be removed it should only cost you around 200 for exam-xray-and removal. You need to make yourself afford it. Good Luck

Insurance or not you've got to go to a dentist! It sounds like an abcess and you shouldn't waster any time getting to the doc. Any time you have an infection in your head you've got to act on it quickly.
