If it's just a mutation then why do creationists say mutations are too detrimental to our health?

Foolish assumptions like this are what causes evolution to be under scrutiny.
Defects, the same thing that causes people to have bad eyesight, the same thing that turns people sterile or gender fusions, tails are just another glitch in the genetic fusion of egg and sperm.
It's the slow and advantageous growths, such as higher muscle-to-fat ratios, or a higher capacity for learning, over generations, that'll cause humans to mutate positively.

Perhaps, some people are born with tails, with patches of hair on the wrong places, with monkey faces..., but the conclusion that they are newly evolved animals is an intolerable insult!
Evolution is not false in the study of physical phenomena, but it is not related at all to man who is a spiritual being. Darwin and his followers know nothing about spiritual realities. These are the domain of religion and other spiritual sciences.

I guess you have to first understand we are living in a decaying world. These things are all evidence of the decay we are witnessing in our world. When you see a child born with a tail it is a breakdown of the natural process of absorbsion that takes place in the womb. In other words it only is a testiment of the decay that is taking place in the dna of our bodies.
